Baton Rouge, LA– The LSU Tigers are gearing up for Oklahoma this Saturday in Atlanta. They left for Atlanta on Sunday to prepare for the game. Head Coach Ed Orgeron is instructing his team to treat this game like a playoff game. It is not just bowl game. The players believe the chemistry on this team is close thanks to some of the adversity they overcame in the past. These senior lost to Troy in 2017.
“I was on the team when Coach O got the job,” defensive lineman Rashard Lawrence said. “We were young guys but we all saw how things went out. I just remember this summer Lloyd the whole offensive line were outside the indoor facility getting after it and I was like I’ve been here four years and this is the fist year where the whole team was up here on a Saturday and it wasn’t mandatory.”
“I think the coaches allowing the players to lead this team. There are a bunch of great individuals leaders on this team,” defensive lineman Breiden Fehoko said. “They lead this team through hard days, through tough days from when we started grinding in the summer and the spring and I think the coaches trickled down that leadership.”
The winner of Oklahoma and LSU takes on the winner of Clemson and Ohio State in the national championship game on January 13th.
