The Memorial Day backyard barbeques will likely have to dodge some rain. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will form up again today. These storms will be slow-moving and could cause ponding on the roadways and in flood-prone areas. Some areas will miss out on the rain, in which case it will be very hot and humid and temperatures reach the upper 80s. By the evening hours, most thunderstorms will have faded away as the really muggy air returns. Throughout the night, there could be a few coastal showers and thunderstorms. Otherwise, it will be very humid with lows near 70 degrees.
Today: Pop-up showers and storms. Some storms will be heavy. High: 86°
Tonight: Coastal showers and thunderstorms. Very humid. Low: 71°
Tuesday: Storms developing in the afternoon. Some storms will be heavy. High: 85°
Rain chances bump up Tuesday and Wednesday as a weak cold front approaches from the west. With numerous showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, highs will be slightly cooler in the mid 80s. Rain chances begin to back off towards the end of the week as the front washes out and fades away. Spotty storms will still form in the afternoons, but there will be fewer of them. By the weekend, temperatures begin to climb back closer to 90 degrees with only a few pop-up storms.
The tropics look to stay quiet through the next week.
