Hundreds came out to support the Mire Volunteer Fire Department.
The fire department held its annual fundraiser at the Rayne Civic Center.
They sold barbecue pork plates at nine dollars a piece.
There was also an auction, music and kids activities.
The fundraiser is expected to raise more than 20 thousand dollars for the department.
“Thank you very much, all of this support is very much appreciated. We appreciate everybody and everyone who comes out. We appreciate your support with the plate lunches and coming out and spending the day with us and having a good time.” said Chief Shannon Richard and Capt. Joey Auster.
