We’ve had quite a foggy start to our day, but the fog is starting to dissipate. A few showers and thunderstorms have gotten an early start today, but they aren’t lasting long. We are seeing muggy conditions across Acadiana, and that will help to kick off thunderstorms later this afternoon. There will be scattered to numerous thunderstorms, just like yesterday, so have the rain gear handy. With the increased cloud cover and storminess, temperatures will top out in the upper 80s to near 90.
Today: On/off showers and thunderstorms. Some storms will produce heavy rain and frequent lightning. High: 89°
Tonight: A few lingering showers, ending by midnight. Low: 75°
Wednesday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon. Some storms will produce heavy rain and frequent lightning. High: 90°
We get a slight break in the rain chances for Thursday before an upper level low moves across Acadiana Friday and Saturday. This will bring increased rain chances, especially Saturday. Temperatures will struggle to break 90° for most of the week. The tropics continue to remain mostly quiet. There is a small area of low pressure off the East Coast that has a low chance of development, but, even if it does develop, it will head harmlessly out to the open waters of the Atlantic.
