Another day, another heat advisory. Temperatures will once again climb into the mid 90s this afternoon, but it will feel more like 105° to 110°. A few showers and storms will get going across Acadiana, but it won’t be enough to keep us from getting too warm.
Today: Hot. Spotty showers and storms. Heat Index of 105° to 110°. High: 94°
Tonight: Partly cloudy, muggy. Low: 77°
Tuesday: Hot. Spotty showers and storms. Heat Index of 105° to 110°. High: 94°
We will see an increase in rain chances mid week which will keep our high temperatures at or below normal. A cold front will help to increase rain chances, but we won’t see much cooler air behind it. In fact, it will bring drier air to the mid-levels which will bring more heat and humidity this weekend. At this time of year, we have to closely watch any front that moves into the Gulf. Tropical systems can easily spin up along them. So far, no models are developing anything, but we will keep a close eye on the Gulf this week just in case.
