JENNINGS – Homecoming night in Jennings and the Bulldogs of Jennings High School take the field against the team they beat in the 1992 state championship game in the Superdome: Cecilia High School
The Cecilia Bulldogs, though, would strike first in this one after quarterback Alex Soileau throws a dart to his receiver Ethan Howard who showed off his juggling skills before hauling it in for the Touchdown.
Jennings, however, would block the extra point.
Later in the first quarter, Jennings QB Lawrence Willridge would throw the screen to Trevor Etienne who absolutely hits the jets on this sixty three yard catch and run to put the home team on the board, making big brother Travis proud all the way from Clemson.
There was a lot of great defense in this game like when senior linebacker Loren Higgenbotham tracks down Soileau for a monster sack, pushing back the visiting Bulldogs deep in their own territory.
It was a close game at half, with Jennings going in with a 21-20 lead. But the home team would dominate the second half, taking down the other Bulldogs 56-35 for their first win of the season. Jennings improves to 1-3, while Cecilia adds to their loss column. Their record now is also 1-3.
