With three more Fridays till Christmas, Lafayette is already spreading the holiday cheer with the opening of Noel Acadien Au Village.
Half a million lights are lighting up this Acadian Village to get people in the spirit of Christmas.
This long-time tradition has been going on for more than 20 years years.
All proceeds directly benefit LARC’s Acadian Village and its services programs that support people with developmental disabilities in the community.
There are lights displays, carnival rides, food and a chance to meet Santa.
This year there are new light displays, a Ferris wheel and a magic forest where animatronic elves tell the story of Santa coming to Acadian Village.
For organizers, this event each year keeps growing and they have plans for more attractions in the future.
The Christmas festivities go from 5:30 to 9:00 pm every day until Christmas Eve.
Tickets are $10. Children four and under and military members with ID get in free.
Tickets can be purchased in advance for $8 at some Shop-Rite and Tobacco Plus stores in Acadiana and online.
