One Acadiana Hosting Series of Fall Election Related Events

Congressional Forum:

October 17th from 6 – 8 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

On November 6, voters across Acadiana will select Louisiana’s 3rd Congressional District Representative. Join us as we provide an exclusive opportunity to hear from and interact with the congressional candidates.

Moderated by Dr. Pearson Cross, Associate Dean University of Louisiana at Lafayette, this forum will discuss opportunities and issues Acadiana is facing and include: Rob Anderson (D), Aaron Andrus (L), Josh Guillory (R), Mimi Methvin (D), Larry Rader (D), Vernone Thomas (D) and our incumbent congressman, Rep. Clay Higgins (R).

Hungry to make an informed decision on the November 6 ballot? Join us for Ballots Over Breakfast on October 25.

The Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana (PAR) will share the pros and cons of the six proposed Constitutional Amendments. We’ll also be joined by Lafayette City-Parish Council members to discuss two proposed millages to support the Parish jail and district court operations.

Doors open at 7:30 AM for networking, program begins promptly at 8am.

We’ll hear from Sheriff Mark Garber about his half-cent sales tax proposal. We’ll also be joined by leaders of the Fix the Charter movement to discuss the proposed amendments to Lafayette’s Home Rule Charter, which would split the City-Parish Council into a separate City Council and Parish Council.
