OPD: Five In Custody For Frilot Street Stabbing And Shots Fired

OPELOUSAS- Opelousas Police Department have arrested five people in connection to the Frilot Street stabbing.

Police say, they responded to several disturbances in the area of Ina Clare Drive and Frilot Street on August 13th around 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The disturbances began in the area of Ina Clare Dr. and continued in the 1300 block of Frilot Street near the home of some of the parties involved.

According to Opelousas Police, the disturbance, allegedly begun over a bicycle in the area of Ina Clare Drive. During the altercation one 15-year-old, male was stabbed and suffered minor injuries. Between 9 or 10 gun shots were fired at a residence in the 1300 block of Frilot Street.

Luckily no one was injured by any of the gunfire. The home was occupied by four people at the time that the shots were fired into the home.

Jaquantay Lavergne Age: 20 of Opelousas
1 Count of –INCITING A FELONY
1 Count of –DISTURBING THE PEACE/FIGHT/ASSAULT

Travion Vaughns Age: 19 of Opelousas
1 Count of –DISTURBING THE PEACE/FIGHT/ASSAULT
