Pure Tropics recognized for brewing excellence in emerging India Pale Ale competition
Broussard, Louisiana • October 7, 2019 —Parish Brewing Co. was awarded a gold medal at the 2019 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition, the world’s largest commercial beer competition. The GABF, presented by the Brewers Association, recognizes the most outstanding beers produced in the United States. Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded October 5 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, in 107 beer categories, establishing the best examples of each style in the country. This year there were 9,497 beers entered into the competition from 2,295 breweries representing all 50 states.
Parish was recognized with a Gold Medal in the Emerging India Pale Ale beer-style category for its Pure Tropics, a massively dry-hopped, pulpy, wet, and juicy IPA conditioned on mango, pineapple, and pink guava purée. Parish is the second-largest brewery in Louisiana and prides itself on creating innovative brands that break the boundaries of traditional styles.
