Paulina Bucka is News15’s weekend anchor. She started working with KPIX News in 2014, a top five market in broadcasting in San Francisco, as a production assistant and soon moved onto the assignment desk. In her free time, Paulina shadowed reporters, wrote scripts, and searched for breaking news stories.
She landed her first on-air reporting job in Redding, California last year. Since then, she has been improving her craft. This is her first time in Louisiana, but she is excited to join the KLAF news team. She says she’s most excited about the food and the culture.
She’s originally from New York, where she graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a Bachelors in Literature and a minor in sociology and human behavior. She worked on the school newspaper and magazine and was enrolled in the English Honors Program. She followed her passion of writing and literature to Palo Alto California where she did a summer program at Stanford University and later took journalism classes at the UC Berkeley Extension Program. She wants to hear from you. Email her with any story ideas at firstname.lastname@example.org.
