Family and friends came together to honor the life of Pernell Boudreaux with a vigil.
His body was found over the weekend on Lebesque Rd.
For the vigil, family and the friends returned to the spot on lebesque road where authorities found his body.
The painful new reality without Pernell left many in tears.
“I lost everything….I feel like I lost everything” said Mayia Boudreaux, his sister, “I went to my brother for everything. I never went to my mom, never went to my oldest brother. It was always him, brought me to work, picked me up. That’s the only person, I would call. Now he not there, I don’t know anymore.”
His aunt and godmother, Glenda also feels broken.
“As a godmother, I held him in church, but my godchild, he’s gone now so I have to make sure his kids are ok, his mom’s ok, and his brother’s. I’m going to do my best.” said Glenda
The outpouring of support of eases a painful loss
“I didn’t my brother knew all of these people cause he was quiet.” said Mayia.
“I’m very, very thankful. The love and the support from family, friends, even though you weren’t a family or a friend, you still came out to show love that really opened our heart to see a lot of people cared about our family to show us all of the love and support they gave us.” Glenda added.
Both Mayia and Glenda want everyone to know the type of Pernell was.
“He was so nice. He was the sweetest, hardworking and he was smart.” said Mayia.
“God gained a good angel with good wings. Nanny will always love you. Rest in peace.” said Glenda.
