Lafayette Police have arrested a suspect in a case we’ve been following. Our anchor, Danielle’s car was broken into and her purse stolen over a week ago. After some digging we found out that Post Office’s in Lafayette aside from the one downtown do not have surveillance cameras. This is something we have been looking into and are trying to find some answers from the federal government about security regulations.
Her purse was recovered a few hours later at a repair shop down the road, still with missing items. A photo of the car from the shop helped the police develop a suspect.
After persistence from the Lafayette Police Department, they have the suspect in custody.
Never leave your items in the front seat, even if the door is locked. A good place to leave items is in your trunk or to bring them with you. Danielle would like to thank Detective Jeffery Mistric for following up and arresting a suspect, so no one else becomes a victim.
