Rebels Pushing for Toughness in Summer Workouts

Lafayette, LA (KADN)– The Teurlings Catholic Rebels are pushing to bounce back strong after a first-round playoff loss to Parkview Baptist last year. The Rebels have four starters back on offense and defense. During summer workouts they are pushing for toughness and intensity to be ready for the season. Head Coach Dane Charpentier explained the Rebels play a more traditional schedule this season trading in Baton Rouge opponents for teams like Opelousas, Breaux Bridge, and Notre Dame. To make a deeper playoff run, there are a few things they are focusing on.

“We gotta have big-play ability on offense and we have to be able to put some pressure on people on defense,” Charpentier said. “That’s one thing we have struggled with is pressuring the opposing offense and that’s one thing we have struggled with this year.”

Teurlings Catholic begins the 2019 season against Comeaux on September 6th.
