Rebels Ready for St. Charles

Lafayette, LA (KADN) — The Teurlings Catholic Rebels are in the middle of a championship three-peat, but to win a 4th straight state title, the rebels had to overcome some inconsistencies to start off the season.  Now they take on St. Charles in the Division II state quarterfinals.  It’s a three-game series that begins on Friday at Teurlings Catholic at 4pm.

“They are such a complete team.  They do everything really well,”  Rebels baseball coach Mike Thibodeaux said.  “They have good pitching.  They are a hungry baseball team. They hit the ball really well for power and for average.  We were in the same position with them as last year for the quarterfinals.”

Last season the Rebels lost to St. Charles in the first game of the two team’s three-game series.  Fortunately,  Teurlings Catholic bounced back in the second two games to advance to Sulphur.  The winner of the series advances to the state semifinals on May 9th at 7pm.
