Royal Teeth and Jelly Toast to Close Fall Season of Downtown Alive!

Lafayette, LA – The Fall season of Downtown Alive! is coming to a close this Friday with a final blowout concert. Indie-rockers Royal Teeth, and indie-folk duo Jelly Toast will be the final performers on stage at Parc International for this Fall’s Downtown Alive! season.

The final Downtown Alive! party of 2019 takes place at Parc International on Friday, November 8th. Royal Teeth, a collection of musicians from Lafayette, New Orleans, and Baton Rouge will headline the night. The band catapulted to success in 2012 after the release of their first EP entitled, “Glow” which featured the single “Wild,” a percussive, joyful pop-anthem that became a national hit. Royal Teeth’s new record, “Hard Luck,” was released this summer with a progression in their sound that exudes energy and conviction.

Royal Teeth will share the stage at DTA! with Jelly Toast, a duet comprised of Lafayette native, Tif “Teddy” Lamson (of GIVERS) and New Orleans based singer-songwriter, Julie Odell. Jelly Toast’s harmony-fueled music is driven by the combined vocals of the two accomplished singers.

Friday night’s concert will be the final performance of the Fall season of Downtown Alive! which is sponsored by Evangeline Maid. The Lafayette bakery joined DTA! as part of their 100-year anniversary celebration—combining Acadiana traditions of great food, live music, and fun for the whole family. Evangeline Maid will be present at Friday’s concert as part of their “100 years, 100 families” Thanksgiving fundraising initiative. The bakery will be selling Evangeline Maid hats and other items to raise money to supply Thanksgiving dinners to 100 families in need.

The party begins at 5:00 PM at Parc International with the DTA! Happiest Hour. Music begins at 6:00 PM. Downtown Alive! will have plenty of children’s activities at the DTA! Kids Zone. Bring the young ones to enjoy the fun with activities with MLR Magic who will be present with face painting and balloons. Food vendors include Landry Brothers Catering and Big Blaques Que & Catering. The DTA! Bar will feature a new selection for this season of Downtown Alive! with canned beverages by Cutwater Spirits, White Claw Hard Seltzer, and new premium beers on tap.
