Metairie, LA (KADN) — The Saints started training camp on Thursday in preparation for their preseason opener against Jacksonville Jaguars on August 9. Numerous positions are up for grabs with just 53 spots open on the roster. Last season’s talented draft class is being bolstered from first round draft pick Marcus Davenport and NFL defensive Rookie of the Year Marshon Lattimore, AJ Klien, and Patrick Robertson, who’s a super bowl champion.
“You try and improve your roster every year,” said Head Coach Sean Payton. “We try and replace key players we lost and then rebuild the roster.”
Saints practice for the first time on Saturday in pads with 13 days before their first preseason game.
