Temperatures have rebounded from yesterdays short-lived cool down and so has the humidity! Heat Index values are already in the triple digits this morning for parts of Acadiana as temperatures continue to rise. Highs should top out in the upper-80s to low-90s this afternoon with dewpoints in the upper 70s, leaving us feeling very humid. We will continue to see mostly cloudy skies and the chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the Western Acadiana parishes this afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the entire area under a marginal risk of severe weather which could include gusty winds, cloud to ground lightning, and isolated heavy downpours. As we head into Wednesday the shower activity should diminish but we will hang on to the clouds for another day. There will be peaks of sunshine tomorrow and highs will return to the low-90s during the afternoon. Expect the possibility of isolated showers and storms each afternoon as we head for increased rain chances over the weekend.
