Meteorologist Scot Pilié joined the News15 Storm Team in May of 2016, and he is ecstatic to be back in his home state of Louisiana! Scot is no stranger to the complex & ever-changing weather that Louisiana often brings, as he was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Scot knew he wanted to become an on-air meteorologist from a very early age, and he distinctly remembers wanting to watch The Weather Channel instead of cartoons; and he was typically found on the New Orleans Lakefront holding a hand-held wind gauge during thunderstorms, tropical storms, and hurricanes.
It has always been Scot’s dream to become a meteorologist along the Gulf Coast; and he is excited to be part of the News15 Storm Team, pursuing his life-long dream of keeping the community safe, prepared, and weather ready for tropical systems and severe weather.
Scot’s life-long passion in tropical weather forecasting, meteorology, and climatology led him to pursue a degree in Professional Meteorology at Mississippi State University. Scot’s professional career began as an meteorology intern at WDSU News in New Orleans. Scot also has past experience working at the CNN Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia as the International & Domestic Weather Intern.
When Scot isn’t forecasting the weather, you can often find him enjoying local festivals, running outdoors, and playing on the tennis court! Scot is also a huge fan of the New Orleans Saints, the Mississippi State Bulldogs, and the LSU Tigers.
