After a soggy start to the week, shower activity is starting to slow down in Acadiana as we reach the lunchtime hour. Some areas will continue to see isolated pockets of heavy rain and a possible thunderstorm. The good news is our temperatures are much cooler than the past several days. Highs today will likely only reach the upper 80s and lower humidity should make this afternoon much more comfortable. This evening we should see most of the shower activity come to an end, leaving us with mostly cloudy skies and overnight lows in the mid-70s. Temperatures will rebound tomorrow with highs in the lower 90s and “feels-like” temps back above 100 degrees. Tomorrow we’ll see mostly cloudy skies with a few peeks of sunshine and a chance of isolated storms in the afternoon hours. The rest of the week will be business as normal with highs in the low 90s and a slight chance of isolated storms mainly after 1 p.m. through the end of the week. Rain chances could be higher for the upcoming weekend.
