(NBC News) Senate Republicans have released a 1,000-page bill they plan to vote on this week based on President Trump’s latest offer to end the shutdown and provide funding for a border wall.
Democrats have already rejected the plan, and insist reopening the government must come before any negotiation on wall funding.
“Open the government. Let’s talk,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday.
Without the support of seven Democratic Senators, President Trump’s plan to offer temporary protection for a million dreamers and refugees in exchange for border wall funding is dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, furloughed workers are preparing to miss a second paycheck this Friday.
