Southside High School had their ribbon cutting on Friday.
Jeremy Hidalgo, District 9 School Board Member said, “We knew that the desire was here but to see it happening takes it to a different level. Its a beautiful facility but more importantly state of the art for the students.”
Dr. Donald Auguillard, LPSS Superintendent said,”Its the first high school that’s been built in Lafayette since the 1960s and where possible we are going to continue to remove temporary buildings as we build new wings new campuses, new schools. We are going to try to build them to modern day architectural standards that facilitate opportunities for kids to collaborate and do critical thinking.”
