Few spotty downpours hanging around through the evening across Acadiana! Most high resolution forecast models showcase diminishing rain chances overnight. Can’t rule out an isolated shower. Temperatures only falling into the mid-upper 60s!
Tomorrow: Warm! High temps in the upper 70s to the low 80s. Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy. Chance for spotty showers and thunderstorms. Rain coverage at 30-40%, primarily in the late afternoon and early evening.
Sunday-Monday: Next storm system developing in the south-central Plains. This system will cause several impulses of energy our way, which will uptick rain chances. The timing and exact placement of the rain is looking tricky. Best rain coverage at this time looks to stay north of Acadiana, with only scattered activity locally. However, that could change!
At this point, expect a 40-50% chance for a few locally heavy downpours from Sunday morning through Sunday afternoon, with a broken line of thunderstorms overnight Sunday into Monday morning. One or two strong thunderstorms look possible with gusty winds and lightning being the primary risks.
Cold front arrives Monday afternoon-evening! Cooler & beautiful Monday night through Friday!
Have a fantastic weekend!
