St. Landry Crime Stoppers

Det. Ray Duplechain of the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office returns to Crime Stoppers and need your help in solving two armed robberies in the Opelousas area.
On August 11, 2019 just before 11:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 100 blocks of Deprimo Lane and Avenue A in Opelousas for 2 armed robberies that occurred within minutes apart. The victim on Deprimo Lane had just arrived home when a black male suspect wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and dark pants robbed him at gun point. After demanding his cash, the suspect then ran in the direction of Avenue A.
Deputies were then dispatched to a home on Avenue A at 11:12 pm for another robbery. The victim and his wife had just returned home when an unknown slim black male wearing a black jacket and dark jean pants with a mask on his face pointed a gun at him and his wife and demanded their money.
The suspect has a slim build and appeared to be in his early 20’s. The victim stated the suspect had a speech impediment by hesitating what he was saying as he demanded money.
