Lafayette, LA (KADN) — The STM Cougars just finished up the first week of spring practice. Jim Hightower the head football coach is used to spring football. He’s been coaching since 1974! This year his task is to replace 30 seniors. However, he is grateful to have his quarterback Caleb Holstein returning. Holstein’s Cougars lost a shootout to University Lab 55-46 in the state title game last season. Record-setting offense, but they’re hungry to finish what they started.
“He improved so much last year,” Hightower said. “He’s able to make decisions and reads much quicker. We are looking forward to him having a standout year.”
STM has some new challenges in its football schedule this season such as Barbe High School from Lake Charles and Neville High School from Monroe.
