Get ready for a stormy night in Acadiana. Showers and thunderstorms will move into your neighborhood after 8 o’clock tonight and end by daybreak tomorrow. The rain will first start in Jeff Davis and Evangeline, and Acadia Parishes, then move into St. Landry, Lafayette, Vermilion Parishes by 10 o’clock. At 11 o’clock Iberia, and St. Martin Parishes will begin to see the heavy downpours. St. Mary Parish will not see as much rain as the thunderstorms run out of steam on their way south and east. Tomorrow will be a fantastic day with much lower humidity and temps only making it to the low 70s, well below average for this time of year. A nice break from the nonstop air conditioning lately. Go ahead and open up your windows and let the fresh air in. Two more rounds of thunderstorms and showers arrive for the weekend. There is a slight risk for severe weather on Saturday midday into afternoon for all of Acadiana. All modes of severe weather are possible for the weekend, that includes large hail, damaging wind and tornadoes. Easter Sunday will see another possibility for severe weather with all modes of severe weather on the table yet again. Next week will be dry, cool and very comfortable with 70s for highs and 50s for lows. Stay with Stormteam 15 for the latest track on the severe weather threat.
