Early morning severe thunderstorms brought strong winds to Acadiana that caused power outages and damage around Lafayette.
The worst damage seemed to be confined to Ambassador Caffery Parkway north of Guillbeau Road and down Eraste Landry.
Pictures show metal buildings sustaining damage from the wind, fences blown down, and many trees toppled.
Parts of Ambassador Caffery were also without power.
Winds at the time were well above severe storm criteria, which is 58 miles per hour.
