HOT, humid, & summer-like weather pattern continues across Acadiana!
The only form of relief? A few pop-up showers & thunderstorms remain in the forecast nearly every day over the next 7 days, which will help cool you off in the late afternoon and evening hours(if you’re one of the lucky ones that sees rain!)
Today: Hot. Near record warmth. High temps: 92-95. The record high for New Iberia and Lafayette is 92, and we will likely shatter both of these 30+ year old records.
Keep the umbrella nearby late this afternoon into the evening! I’ve increased rain chances to 30-50% late this afternoon, as a weak disturbance moves in from the north. Frequent lightning, locally heavy rain, and brief gusty winds possible with any thunderstorms that do develop.
Not everyone will see rainfall…but the spots that do could receive a quick .25-50 inches of rain. Other locales won’t even see a drop.
Tomorrow-Sunday: More heat, more humidity. High temps: 90-94. Mostly clear days, spotty afternoon rain chances(10-30%). We could use the rain, but most locations won’t receive much!
Monday-Wednesday: Our persistent ridge of high pressure looks to break down somewhat, which will allow rain chances to be much more summer-like with the daily 30-40% chance for afternoon showers & pop-up thunderstorms. With higher rain percentages, high temps: 88-92. Low temps: 69-73.
