Lafayette, LA (KADN) — Being back at home was not enough for the Ragin Cajuns. Their loss to the Mavericks on Thursday night is their third straight double-digit loss. Injured Cajuns have missed a combined total of 46 games.
“We played 40 minutes of zone defense,” Head Coach Bob Marlin said. “I’ve coached 900 games and I’ve never done that.”
The Ragin’ Cajuns cut the lead to five in the second half of the game but they missed layups and several turnovers kept the Cajuns from getting any closer. They only shot 27 percent from the floor in the second half.
The ball didn’t go in on our end but it went in on their end,” Marlin said. “We had a low turnover game. Although our turnovers were poor they were direct points for them almost. Several pick-sixes.”
The Cajuns were stretched so thin that PJ Hardy, who has missed the last seven games, he played 38 minutes against the Mavericks. So much for coming back and taking things easy. Texas State won’t feel sorry for the Cajuns on Saturday.
