Tonight: 55°. Showers and storms early
Tomorrow: 65° Mostly Sunny
Monday: Low: 36° Clear. High: 57° Mostly Sunny
We are still expecting rain showers and possible storms in the near term. This will all be associated with a cold front moving in during the evening and overnight hours for Saturday. At this point severe weather is looking less likely than before for the central part of the viewing area our Northern Parishes should still be on alert for the possibility of severe weather. The Storm Prediction Center still has St. Landry,Evangeline and portion of Acadia Parishes in a SLIGHT risk while all other Parishes in the region are either in MARGINAL or general thunderstorm risk. No matter the risk level, the threats remain the same with strong winds being the biggest threat although an isolated tornadic storm can’t be ruled out. Going into Sunday, temperatures begin their trend downward for the next few days. We will see middle 60’s for the high on Sunday with overnight lows dipping into the middle 30’s. Monday then looks to be the coldest day of the week with a high 57°. Temperatures do begin to moderate after that and the quiet weather continues with sunshine until late next week.
