Suspect arrested in Rayne stabbing

A Rayne man is behind bars on a charge of attempted murder after a stabbing incident during a burglary Saturday morning.

Raushe Tearez Turner, 41, faces charges of second-degree attempted murder and aggravated burglary. Bond was set at $350,000 for the attempted murder charge and $25,000 on the burglary count.

Rayne Police received a report of a stabbing on Lyman Avenue in Northwest Rayne just before 4 a.m. Saturday. When officers arrived, they discovered a woman with multiple stab wounds inside of a vehicle. She was transported to Acadia General Medical Center in Crowley.

Detectives worked two separate crime scenes — a house in the 600 block of Lyman Avenue where the initial offense occurred and the location on Lyman Avenue where the victim drove after the incident.

The investigation is continuing at this time.
