LOUISIANA – According to the Louisiana Department of Health there are now 6,424 confirmed cases of COVID-19, (Coronavirus) in Louisiana, 273 deaths.
The Acadia Region has a total of 397 confirmed cases of COVID-19, (Coronavirus) and 9 deaths as of April 1, 2020 at 12 noon according to the Louisiana Department of Health.
Here’s a list of the parishes in Acadiana with confirmed cases of COVID-19, (Coronavirus) and deaths as of April 1, 2020 at 12 noon: Acadia 47; 1 death, Evangeline 11, Iberia 49; 1 death, Jeff Davis 9, Lafayette 159; 2 deaths, St. Landry 45; 1 death, St. Martin 41; 3 deaths, St. Mary 26.
In Louisiana there are 1, 489 patients in the hospital and 490 of those patients are on ventilators.
If we don’t flatten the curve, the New Orleans area could run out of ventilators by April 2.

The number has been expected from state leaders and health officials who were anticipating a jump due to the increased availability of testing. It’s also representative of the situation that’s unfolding in the COVID-19 hot spot of New Orleans.
Officials said 60 of the sate’s 64 parishes are reporting cases.
