The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to hold public meeting

If you’re pretty big on fishing, this is your chance to voice your thoughts.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will hold public meetings around the state to present and gather comments on the proposed 2019 through 2020 hunting seasons. Things to discuss on the agenda include rules and regulations concerning wildlife management areas, turkey hunting season and migratory bird hunting season.

Director of Habitat Stewardship Programs Tommy Tuma says its crucial to understand the communities perspective on issues concerning the Sportsman Paradise.

“Louisiana is a sportsman paradise and we have a lot of users, and part our culture is hunting and fishing. Especially in this area so its important. It’s also important for people to have a a say so if you don’t give people your opinion on how things should be run then we’re kind of just guessing”
