Tropical Storm Imelda has formed in the western Gulf off the Texas coast. It is expected to move onshore near Freeport. The biggest threat from Imelda will be heavy rains and flooding throughout southeast Texas, where rain totals could exceed a foot! Locally, it will send a few rain bands our way, but we don’t expect flooding to be an issue. We will see 1 to 2 inches of rain through Thursday throughout Acadiana. Imelda will slowly move northward and weaken as we head to Thursday.
