Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon says that earlier today Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies were involved in a vehicle pursuit after attempting to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle in Lafayette Parish. The pursuit ended at the intersection of Winfred Rd. and Gordon Rd. in Vermilion Parish when the three occupants in the vehicle fled on foot. Sheriff Couvillon says that two of the occupant’s Paula Viator w/f 31yoa of Erath, La. and Joshua Rogers w/m 31 yoa of Kaplan, La. have been arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and one person is
still at large.
A search of the area was conducted by both the Lafayette and Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office in an attempt to locate the third suspect, but has since been called off. Sheriff Couvillon says that
person still at large has been identified as Michael “BJ” OBryan Jr. w/m of Abbeville and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office will be applying for warrants in connection with his charges in Lafayette Parish. Sheriff Couvillon says that additional patrol and unmarked units are in the area providing additional patrol for those residents.
