Unresolved issues over audio recordings of the statements Judge Lori Landry made stalled the third day of the recusal hearing in New Iberia.
The District Attorney’s Office for the 16th JDC aims to use those recordings to argue that Judge Landry is biased against and should be recused from more than 400 cases.
Attorneys on neither side wanted to comment why there is a hold up about the administrative procedures for the use of audio recordings of the judge’s statements.
For supporters of Landry, they already feel the trial is a sham.
Both Kevin Broussard and Marja Broussard believe the judge has been fair and is holding the Iberia Parish District Attorney’s Office’s feet to the fire
“Just like all week long, it’s been a crusade to lynch her for her being black, telling white guys, they are doing some racist things in the court room for poor clients which is black people. She is doing justice, simple as that.” said Kevin.
“I think the district attorney might be flexing his muscle. He might be being a bully. I know he’s using tax paying dollars to do this when we know they can be working on cases instead of having this.” said Marja.
The trial resumes Thursday at 1:30.
