Update* Arrest made in Opelousas drive-by shooting

Update* Opelousas Police have made an arrest in connection with a drive-by shooting that happened yesterday afternoon.

Jamarcus Stelly,26 of Opelousas was arrested and charged with attempted second degree murder. Stelly and the victim were arguing when Stelly pulled out his gun and shot the victim in the leg. The victim was released from the hospital and Stelly was booked into the st. Landry parish jail.

Original Story* Opelousas Police are investigating a drive-by-shooting that leaves one injured. According to Opelousas Police Chief Martin McLendon, the incident happened at approximately 2:05 pm near the intersection of Laurent and East Street. Chief McLendon says a black male, age unknown, was shot in the leg. Right now their are no known suspects.  The investigation is ongoing.
