Village of Maurice Declared Its COVID-19 Public Emergency to Be Over

One Acadiana municipality has declared its COVID-19 public emergency to be over. Mayor Wayne Theriot says he has rescinded the public emergency declaration that went into effect when the state entered phase 1 of the recovery process. Theriot issued this latest offer after the village followed the governor’s safety mandates for two months. In today’s declaration, theriot said quote—” The threat to life and property of the citizens of the Village of Maurice has been reduced by the declaration of phase one.”
