Thursday will be warm, mostly sunny, and breezy. Southerly winds will remain elevated through the afternoon 15-20mph and gusts as high as 25mph. Temperatures this afternoon will climb to near 84 degrees.
Rain chances increase a bit Friday but should be isolated in nature (30%) so no need to cancel your plans. Temps will be warm once again nearing the mid 80s under a partly sunny sky.
Severe weather threat comes on Saturday. Expect a few showers in the morning with the main action coming by the afternoon and lasting through the night. The timing of the storms will be between 1pm-11pm and the likelihood for severe weather will come during the afternoon and early evening. This will be a very similar weather setup we saw last weekend and all modes of severe weather will be possible. The Storm Prediction Center has outlined northern and central LA under an enhanced risk and South LA under a slight risk. Damaging wind gusts of 45-60mph, a few tornadoes, pea/quarter sized hail, and heavy rainfall are all possible. We may see 1-2″ of rain and even higher amounts locally.
Storms will move out late Saturday night into Sunday morning and winds will shift out of the northwest bringing in cooler temperatures. Highs will be in the lower 70s and lows in the upper 40s. Sunshine will stick around for the new work week and temps will warm back up!
Another chance for showers and storms comes by midweek.
Have a great day!
